10.18 - Andreas Kapsalis Trio - CD Release Details Announced
The Andreas Kapsalis Trio CD Release Show at The Morse Theater in Chicago will take place on Friday November 14. The Lonesome Organist opens the show at 8pm.
The evening will include a live photoplay presentation to Maya Deren's silent film 'Meditation on Violence' (1948). The night will also showcase a handful of musical guests to perform songs off the new AK Trio album 'Original Scores.' Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. The Morse Theatre is located at 1328 W. Morse Ave in the East Rogers Park neighborhood. More info can be found at: www.themorse.com

The new Andreas Kapsalis Trio record will be available everywhere in November. The AK Trio will be on tour the second half of October with some pre-release copies of 'Original Scores.' Since November 2007, Darren Garvey has been working with engineer Manny Sanchez (Umphrey's McGee, The Hush Sound, Plain White T's, Bound Stems) at In Vault Lab Studios on his first solo record due for release later this year.
The debut solo performance in support of this new material is on Wednesday, April 2 at the new Uncommon Ground location (1401 W. Devon Ave). Darren will play guitar, bass drum, hi hat, piano, and sing. Temporarily stepping away from the drums... opening for Cameron McGill, show starts at 9pm.
2.20.08 - South By Southwest / C & C Drum Company
In preparation for Austin's South By Southwest music festival in March, The Hideout is hosting its 2nd Annual Sending the Four-Star City to the Lone Star State musical showcase on Saturday March 8th. Darren will be playing with Cameron McGill in this all day benefit for SXSW bound Chicago musicians. Cameron McGill and band will be touring to and from Austin in March.
